I forgot to mention the death of Susanne Wenger last week, and she was over 90 years old.

Her work in the Oshogbo Sacred Grove made it to became enlisted into the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) world heritage list in 2005.

  1. Readers may also want to read more about this great African priestess, artist, sculptor and religious thinker of Austrian origin at http://www.afrikanet.info There have been fewer Europeans-Africans more impressive than this artist who devoted her life to African religion at a time when the colonialists and imperialists were preaching that everything African was primitive. She embraced Yoruba culture and religion with a total commitment which is seldom found in our opportunistic world.
