What I'm Reading Right Now (5)

Quote of the day:
Books wrote our life story, and as they accumulated on our shelves (and on our windowsills, and underneath our sofa, and on top of our refrigerator), they became chapters in it themselves.
-Anne Fadiman

My first and current read for the month of May is British novelist J.K. Rowling's crime debut (writing as Robert Galbraith) and titled 'The Cuckoo's Calling'.

The story revolves around the death of a model who fell from her balcony, it is assumed she committed suicide, however the brother thinks otherwise and calls a private detective to investigate...

So tell me, what book are you reading?

Peace. Love. Light*

  1. I loved Cuckoo's Calling for the depth she brought to each character. They are flawed and human and grey and imperfect.. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I'm reading I've Got You Under My Skin by Mary Clark. 50 pages in and it looks promising :)

  7. It seems to be an amazing book. Just finishes "The Alchemist", by P. Coelho. I really liked it this time. When I was about 18 I started to read it, but at that time it was too difficult for me to read.

  20. Actually I'm reading a book from the 70's. It's Desi Arnaz's autobiography. It's taken me forever because I read at night and fall asleep, many times while reading. I'm saving the rest for vacation in a week or so.

  28. It's good to see J.K. Rowling branching out in a new direction. Also good to see how much people are enjoying it. I'm reading (for the fourth or fifth time) The Gunslinger - The Dark Tower series by none other than Stephan King. One of my favorite series that I read every other year or so.

  33. This sounds like an interesting book and it reminds me of a case that happened in Coronado, California about 3 years ago where a young woman committed suicide by hanging herself, but some of the evidence isn't 100% conclusive that it was a suicide.

I just finished reading The Accidental Life of Greg Millar by Aimee Alexander. It was a good book, I would highly recommend it.
