Your mind Is A Beautiful and Magical Thing

Quote of the day:

If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. -Napoleon Hill

The problem with waiting for the right moment to do something is that you'd have to decide what your threshold is before either giving up or making room for an extension of sorts. And then the question of how long you plan to wait for comes into play. How do you even begin to determine this stretch of time?

Quite often we are told to go after what we want and stop waiting for the perfect time as there isn't one. In the same vein we are told that there is a time for everything. But the question that we all have to ponder at some point is 'what do I want out of life'? A difficult question with surprisingly easy answers in the end. Whatever you are passionate about is most likely tied to how you will eventually turn out in life -but not always. Passion does not always translate into action. How many times have you heard someone moaning about how they dislike their job and dread going to work everyday. Their mind is somewhere else. They hold an affection for a different existence which they examine and long for from a distance. It's incomparable like night and day.

But what if the perfect time does exist? At times it matters less about the timing and more about the actual will to move forward, setting goals and creating the right path to achieving them. But one thing life has taught me is that to gain something you will likely lose another. For example. to lose weight you'd have to exercise and put in the hard work before you start seeing results. You gain a better outlook and healthy lifestyle, and lose excess fat and all the accompanying health issues.

No matter the point in life you are at, don't neglect to take care of yourself, your thoughts and ideas, even your failures matter. Your mind is a beautiful and magical thing. And if you are at a point where you feel you don't know what to do next in life or if you haven't yet figured it all out -it's okay. Keep writing your story. Imagine yourself to be an artist with a blank canvas and keep painting away at your masterpiece from sunrise till sunset.

Peace. Love. Light*

  3. this is very true and I agree with every word. you are truly a man of thinking and inspiration.... thanks for the reminder here. I found in my long years my wants and desires have changed along the years, what I thought I wanted years ago no longer even interest me.... thanks for making me think

  4. Very well said. Sometimes there is the perfect moment - the exact window in which to strike - and other times there's just not. You have to be prepared for either scenario, and to not be sad if that perfect window never does come.

  6. That is a very positive way of thinking. Not too long ago a friend of mine asked me what was now my purpose in life (now meaning the time I decided to make a change in my "life style/daily routine" so to speak. Plans come along with the passing of time...Plans and action may fulfill our lives but we do not have to focus on plans and visions all the time. Live, do not be idle all the time, live the small life, live the bigger life, and let's not waste energy worrying about things that have not happened yet.

  9. As I get older, I am more careful with my time. I do the things that matter to me and let go of the rest. Aging has its benefits!

  10. I love how encouraging this post is. We often look at bigger picture or big accomplishments or numbers but actually sometimes, it's not about the grandeur. it's more of substance and learning. :)

  12. I think knowing our passion is a crucial part of knowing ourselves and our purpose in life. No, we might not always be able to act on that where we are, but we should always keep it in our sights for when the opportunity to jump on it arrives. That pretty much sums up how I came to write my novels - situation, time, place, opportunity - all came together, prompting me to act.
    Blessings to you!

  13. Your thoughts are very well formulated. I am convinced that the right time for anything does not exist. You either do it or you don't. I say that with my own life experience. Go forth and live.

  15. Great post. I've been struggling with the what is the purpose of my life since my late husband died about three and one-half years ago. Not found the answer yet. It's hard, but you're right that it's okay if we haven't gotten there.

  16. Now is always the right time. Sure, it may not feel like it. But life has a way of working out just the way it needs to when you start on the path of where you want to go.

  21. Hello, my friend Blogoratti!

Years ago I studied Napoleon Hill's success principles and I appreciate you quoting him at the start of this post. My strategy is to execute, to perform elegantly, as I strive for mastery. No matter what the project, great or small, do it artfully, do it with passion and gusto, or don't do it at all.

Have a wonderful week, my good friend!

  22. I think a failure saved my life, so, yes, failures do matter and usually make you stronger.
Still it´s never ever the right time to do your taxes... I´m running late.. again!

  26. I just re-read this post and it also has a lot of meaning for me personally. years ago, I was into volunteering for various things, but in the past few years I have decided to focus on my interests and projects. At first, I thought that was being "selfish" so I tried another stint at volunteering. It lasted briefly and now I am concentrating more on my own activities, which may not change the world in the least, but will certainly change my world.
