Why Everything In Life Is A Test

Quote of the day:

How many things have to happen to you before something occurs to you?
-Robert Frost

It might sound strange to think of fate as a gift, but isn't it? Unwrapped and tucked away in a safe place it is always at the back of the mind, like that nagging feeling you get that things will go wrong even when everything is going just fine. In life we spin our own yarn. We paint on our own blank canvas. We compose and sing our own song. We plant our own seeds. And deep down we yearn for acceptance, for integration, for growth and where we end up is where we always intended to be. Or maybe not?

The things that you believe you understand and the things you seek to grasp are two separate paths. To become lost, you must first acknowledge that you no longer know the correct way. With fate there's so much about it that is beyond our control. The people we come across, the experiences we gather, the opportunities we've lost, fate can both be generous and intolerable, with contrasting forms. You don't have a say on the past, but you can influence the present, discovering and shaping your world as you go along. This is all you. Dictating things with your actions, your will, and your resolve. Knowing your inner universe, cosmos and all.

What's the number one reason people go on holiday? Mainly to relieve stress, have a change of scenery and take in all the sights either alone, with a partner or loved ones-all valid reasons no doubt. So in essence you travel mostly for the experience and for the richness it brings into your heart and mind. Because if the purpose of life is to live then surely exploring the unfamiliar counts. Experience in turn leads to realism. Sometimes fate can be summed up in a few words, other times it's all a guess. Because you never know how something is until it happens to you, an invincible line waiting to be crossed.

In the same breath travelling is not embarked upon by all, as circumstances may vary. You either like it and can afford it, or you wish to but can't afford it. But to think that first you must journey through life to discover your true self, your vision will offer clarity when you search into your heart, through the dark corners, hidden chambers and pathways. Only then can you discover your better self. It's not the way you look, dress, or carry yourself. It's your inner being that whispers to you when your eyes are closed, knowing yourself is a never ending test of life.

From childhood to adulthood it would appear that most things in life, if not all is a test. Each day is a test of our abilities, emotions, courage, and experience. Some we fail, others we pass. There is no life book for dummies to help us navigate through the various storms at sea as we survive one shipwreck after the other, we live and learn.

Peace. Love. Light*

Yes, we all seem to find our own path, even if we get waylaid at times, we do our best to get back on the path we have chosen.
    Have a lovely week!

  5. Interesting thoughts. I agree that every step in one's life is a lesson, and can be a test as well.

    I like your blog's new look. :-)

  6. Interesting that you talk about travel. I can afford it, but have zero interest in it. I have traveled in my youth and it was more stress for me than what it was worth. I experience every joy I desire here in the mountains at home and I really have no need or want to leave it! I don't really see life as a test, but I can understand your way of thinking.

  7. Hello, I agree with your thoughts and post. We can control our life somewhat and choose our path. There are always some kind of obstacles in the way. Hubby and I chose to live minimally so we can travel. Thanks for sharing this post and for visiting my blog. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!

  9. "Knowing yourself is a never ending test of life..." I share that feeling. From the cradle to the grave we are forever wrestling with experience and understanding. With regard to travel and seeking new experiences, I must say that I have known many people who are happy enough to live inside the cocoons of their own little worlds as if apprehensive about the challenge of otherness and the unknown.

  17. I suppose life can be considered to be a series of tests. I prefer to believe it is a series of choices. Each choice affects future choices so I must make the best possible choice each time.

  20. I suppose if things didn't gang aft aglee from time to time, we wouldn't grow. Or learn to roll with the punches. Today is a gift which is why it's called The Present. Not all gifts are appreciated. Like getting underwear and socks at Christmas. Not fun, but practical. Hope your day is going well.

  26. Brilliant writing as always!

i adore your insight upon life and the essence of experiences and observations you share here!

Who created us ,he provided us guidance through most important book of this existed universe"the Nature"

All happens to us has reason behind it .
sometimes it is harvest and sometime it is plantation for growth which turn into beneficial crop if our faith in this fact (that all happens for reason) remains unshaken without any complain , lament or regret.

I am talking through my experience that everything "blessing " or Misery" are test to check our instinct of gratitude and of patience

  31. This reminds me of a dream I had there were two roads one leading left and one right, I met a wizard with a crystal ball and behind him a beautiful meadow with a horse. I chose nether left or right, but walked into the open meadow to seek the mysteries of life.

Perhaps, they are not test, but initiations of the soul’s path.

  32. I have walked many miles to know I cannot escape the things in my head, the feelings in my heart, the who I am, yet travel is essential to see, see what life offers, the se I am meant to meet, to rise to a challenge to know I am worthy, blessings, Blogoratti, keep exploring

  34. Thought provoking post, Blogoratti, and I believe that anytime we go out and travel anywhere, even if just for a walk in our neighborhiod we are experiencing new things and sights all around. Of course, we enjiy travel that takes us out of our area because we have such different experiences and reactions, including those from people we meet.

  35. Love this post and agree. Someone once told me that we'll go through the same tests over and over again until we really pass them. The pain can be hard, but we become better! Hugs...RO
