Quote of the day:
Elegance isn't solely defined by what you wear. It's how you carry yourself, how you speak, what you read.
-Carolina Herrera
For this week, its back to John Grisham with a book titled 'The Racketeer'. It's a bit slow in the beginning, but things pick up pretty fast. I find the story disjointed in places and the narrative can be quite disruptive at times.

Its a fascinating read so far and is interesting for the most part.

It's a bit slow in the beginning, but things pick up pretty fast. I find the story disjointed in places and the narrative can be quite disruptive at times. And this is why I don't read Grisham. All his books are this way to me and often far too technical.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺

ReplyDeleteNeed to find time for that!
Just started The Floor of The Sky by Pamela Carter Joern. Was in a stack of books that were gifted to me. Had no idea it was a young adult book but it is quite good so far because of the interesting characters. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never read Grisham - hope this gets better for you! :)
ReplyDeleteLove "The Reason" - great song.

Reading 1,000 Lashes by Raif Badawi. It features 15 of his blogposts that were salvaged before the Saudis deleted them all. The power of the pen is mighty, and mightily feared. Badawi is serving 10 years with 1,000 lashes and a $250,000 fine. All proceeds to his family in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking this one out soon...love Grisham tales.
ReplyDeleteCurrently re-reading 'Bad Blood - The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment' by James H. Jones, just finished a real page turner by a blog friend. =)

ReplyDeleteI wonder if John Grisham has written too many stories at this point. Some authors seem to burn out. Hope it picks up for you.

Been a while since I read anything by John Grisham, but this looks like a really good read, and glad that it picked up so quickly. As always, love your quote! Hugs...Ro
ReplyDeleteI've read most of John Grisham's books including this one, which I thought was pretty good. I'm still working on Jeffrey Archer's 'Best kept secret'. I've been very busy lately and don't have enough free time to read like I usually do.
ReplyDeleteStill parallel-reading the same 3 books... I am making slow progress these days, as I am out or entertaining at home 5 out of 7 nights a week right now.
ReplyDeleteGrt book. Am presently reading determining divine direction by David Oyedepo. Have never read a book by John Grisham, would do that someday.

Right now I would do better with a John Grisham book. Recently someone gave me a book by Lucy Anne Holmes because it was funny. It was, but a bit crude at times. However, it did give me a laugh as well as an insight into the way girls behave these days. So I tried another one of hers on the kindle (I don't seem to get the 'flavour' of a book on the kindle) which is so trashy I can't finish it.
ReplyDeleteStill on with my Ian Flemming...
