Poem: Somewhere Over the Rooftops

Quote of the day:

A dream is the bearer of a new possibility, the enlarged horizon, the great hope. -Howard Thurman

Somewhere within the delicate sky
The sun lay in ruins
Held down by the darkest of clouds
A vengeance for being too pleasant

Somewhere in your heart
A path worth pursuing
Obscured by solemn victory
An aftermath of idle disenchantment

Somewhere in this world
Over towering rooftops
Beyond the wings of horizon
A quelling of dreams in vain

Somewhere within the twilight
The tide began to wane
Freed from the tempest of love

A calmness too salient to ignore

This poem was written in free verse thereby observing no known structure, rhyme or scheme. It is an open form of poetry with no metre patterns. It merely follows natural speech and was written on the go. This form is a continuation of my goal to write outside my known comfort zone.

Thank you for stopping by, and to the new blog visitors, I'd like to say welcome and do come again.

Peace. Love. Light*
