Quote of the day:No man is rich enough to buy back his past. -Oscar WildeSo what if you had all the money in the world and could buy back the past...What part of your past would you buy back first and just how much would you be willing to pay for it-assuming you had the money that is.
Since the
past always has a way of creeping up to the
present, if given the opportunity to buy back their past-I think most people would grab the opportunity with open arms. Buy back the mistakes, the agonies, the tears, the fears, the losses-amongst other things. But you see all that is not possible, only a
wishful dream.I have had to deal with many things in life... most of which I've had absolutely no control over. I also had to deal with many things that i had absolute control over. Along the way I have learned that it always pays to do the right things at the right time and that there is indeed a
time for all things. Do the right thing...because it is right. Have the courage to face your challenges head on.5 years from now-your hairstyle, your wardrobe, your relationships, friends you had won't matter. What matters is what u learned & how you used it.
Step out of your comfort zone...Let go of certain things. Live right, make plans, get up when you are down, don't cry over spilled milk, don't worry about things that you can't change like-the weather and friends.
Let nothing stand in your way to fulfilling your dreams. If anyone says to you...."
You can't do it"....get up and show them that you can. Success is the best revenge.
The past won't really matter 5 years from now....

I used to thing I would want to change the past... mistakes... some things here and there. And yet, looking back now, mistakes and tears or not, those are the things that have made me realize that I need to be strong. They are the same things that have opened my eyes to knowing my Maker and who knows... if i wake up one day i find that i could re-live it, i may do those things the same way!

ReplyDeleteYou always have the right words hon...i'm not sure what made you think of this, and what you are going through, but it looks like you have resolved it and found peace...or maybe i'm just assuming, i'm good at that, lol.
Nways nicely written....
hmm...if i can buy the past, it would be my university days..i would had followed my passion;teaching & learn two hand-work;sewing & hair dressing..what am willingly to pay?..I DUNNO....because NO AMOUNT OF MONEY CAN EVER TURN THE CLOCK BACK!
ReplyDeleteWeldone!... very thought-provoking post.
@neefemi: I would like to think that we are all on the same path to resolving our battles and finding inner peace...only that it's much nearer for some than others. And your assumptions can be said to be partially correct :)
ReplyDeleteAppreciate your stopping by*
@The nitty-gritty tales of a housewife : True...the past is in the past-can't be recalled or bought. But one should not allow the past-to define what one can become in the future. And hey it's never too late to follow your passion. All the best*
Success is indeed the best revenge.

ReplyDeletethis post is so true, a lot of people need to know how to deal with the past..of course, as humans, there might be something in our past we wouldn't do if we had to do it all over again but then we can't..and so, i never dwell on it..today is what matters!!

Even if one could, why try? At the end of the day it is those decisions, mistakes, challenges and joy that have led to the present. Hopefully the joys of the present outweigh anything that could have been changed.
