As seen on the Telegraph UK, the world's cheapest place to visit on a tight budget is Iran, followed by Egypt, Indonesia, Gambia, Malaysia, and Tunisia. A ranking of 141 countries in terms of price competitiveness,  compiled by The World Economic Forum's biannual Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report takes into account air taxes and airport charges, the price of hotel accommodation, fuel prices and the cost of living.

  9. You have the best quotes.

I left a pizza place this evening and saw a homeless man. He was begging me for a dollar. I don't give money way but I will gladly feed anyone that's hungry, so I insisted that he follww me back in the pizza place and he could order anything he wanted, but he said no. He wanted money. he insisted on it. I was saddened. I didnt give him any money.

@Alieux: Thank you for that. What a compelling story, and I would have done the same I think...because giving out money may just help fuel their addictions, better to buy a warm meal instead. Appreciate you sharing that!

  16. What inspiring stories! A house on wheels - such a simple idea but provides essential shelter. Good to see something done to help the rhinos. And I've always wanted to see the pyramids, but I wonder if recent political strife has to do with the lower cost of visiting these countries.

  17. interesting snippets today...I wonder if that house on wheels would cause a problem in cities, such as not being allowed.

@ humbird: Yes I quite agree, helping others is a good thing especially if one is already so blessed. Thanks for visiting!

@Nick Wilford: Yes the recent political strife in some of those countries may have a hand in that, hopefully it means more people will be able to afford to visit. Thanks!

@Christine: I thought the same to about the moving houses, but apparently as long as she moves it around every couple of days, it should be no problem. Not sure how that would work in other cities though. Thanks for that!

  30. How brilliant is that about the shelter for the homeless woman. We currently have my wife's homeless brother living with us. he had a very hard upbringing that I think for anyone would have ended up in a similar position.
