Quote of the day:
If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door. -Milton Berle
Does it ever seem like you lack ideas for your blog posts? As if every other blog you know seem to churn out great posts all the time? Well you are not alone. Thinking of a blog post can be such a herculean task. I used to have the same problem. I say used to -because I figured out a long time ago to blog about things that I LIKE!. Does that make sense? Yes indeed. And here I present to you 5 blog post ideas that you can write about.
1. Just Write Anyway
I've had many unplanned posts. And I'm sure most of you have too. Whenever I feel the urge to write, I create a new post and go from there. For example, my last poetry post was a spur-of-the-moment material. So whenever you have the urge to write something, just write anyway.
2. Share photos/hobbies
If you are into photography, or have recently come back from a vacation, sharing photos will make for a great blog post content. Not only will you show off your skills, but also you'll be able to talk about the meaning behind your images, and not forget your travel experience.
Or better yet, it could just be a hobby of yours to photograph animals, plants, buildings, and others. Its definitely a great way to share things that you enjoy. You could also be into art and crafts -whatever it is will help you reach out to your readers.
3. Review something
You can review a book, a movie, a product, or a fancy place you've recently visited. It is a good way to to reflect, analyse and share what you experienced with your readers.
4. Guest posts, hosting and Interviews
You can invite your readers to submit posts, or host a blogger on your blog, or go as far as interviewing someone who you feel will add value to your blog and readers. This is a good way to create content, and can turn out to be a win-win for everyone involved.
5. Blog about your Ideas
Put your ideas down, or make a list of things that you like/dislike, talk about things in your life that affect you, research topics on the internet, show others how to do or make something, write a poem or a story....these are all great ideas for you to create a post.
In conclusion, while it's not always easy to create fresh content at all times, finding a scope you feel comfortable with will make things a lot easier.

Good suggestions all; I do struggle at times, these ideas will help me take a fresh look at my writing.
ReplyDeleteThese are all very good ideas......between the news and one's interests and things we come across from day to day, there is no shortage of material. Also, each person has the most AMAZING story, so we are surrounded by stories waiting to be told.
ReplyDeleteGood list. I primarily do #2 and #3. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I do all of those.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I never lack for blog post ideas.
@Jacquelineand....: If it will help you start afresh, then that'll be great. Many thanks for visiting!
ReplyDelete@Sherry Blue Sky: Yes I agree, there are a million things to write about out there. Thank you for taking time to stop by!

Good ideas specially the first one, just write for the love of it ~
ReplyDeleteAll great points. Sometimes my best posts are the ones that are unplanned; just spur of the moment!
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletexoxox,
CC
lol I'm 201 posts ahead. So nah, I never lack for ideas haha
ReplyDeleteOr you can do what I do at times and share jokes that others have sent me. Okay, just kidding because that's not original at all.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I do is Wednesdays Question. It's been a really good way to get lots of comments about a subject.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
Wonderful ideas. I think its so great to reveal bits of yourself in your blog - makes things real.
ReplyDelete@Gail: Hello and thank you for visiting!

@Chris Lally: Hello and thank you for visiting, much appreciated!
These are good ideas. I sometimes run out of ideas to do a blog post. Luckily, I have my daughters to back me up when this happens, and they can do a post. I really admire those who blog all by themselves. :~)

Brilliant ideas! Thank you, Blogoratti!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Peace :)
point4 has been so helpful to me.it helps me drive traffic my way especially when i interview blog readers.
ReplyDeletebloggers should try and make do of this list.
bolateethole.blogspot.com
Often we begin with only the "title"..."Hello...."
ReplyDelete... go see what stored image i find "interesting" ( and we have so Many folders of these images)... pick a few (sometimes just One) ... and have an "idea for a post...
there is more than a bit of "randomness" at my "Crypt", good Sir...
I just write about my life or random things that strike my fancy. My blogging's turned into a nice historical record of the last six years of my life.
ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas - thank you! Also, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such kind comments. Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThis will be useful for bloggers.
ReplyDeleteGood tips. I just start and see what happens every day. Valerie
ReplyDeleteInteresting suggestions, I hope a lot people will read this because some bloggers are writing only about weather ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas there. I cheat. I read other people's blogs for inspiration! Whenever I find myself writing a long comment on someone's blog I extend it into a full post!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great inspiration on how to come up with blog post ideas! I do have lots of ideas in my head but I hardly find the time to write them down. I need to organize myself better so I can get back into blogging more :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week!
Just write anyway is a great idea especially with poetry. Don't be afraid of putting it on the blog and then tidying it up, but not too much so as to lose the original impetus, over the next day or two. Poetry comes to fruition when it is revisited after a short period of absence. The poetic words spring from the unconscious and cry to be in the poem. The ordinary words of the original can be replaced by and by to good effect.
ReplyDeleteI love pictures a lot and fashion and I totally need to start living with the write anyway idea. Great post.
ReplyDeleteTwag
I used to struggle for blog topics too, but now that I have 3 structured posts a week, it's pretty easy. I like to occasionally surprise people with an extra, random one every now and then too.
ReplyDeleteEven bloggers can get writer's block. I haven't written a story for ages but I keep my hand in with the blogs.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this sharing and all tips. Just like you have said, it will be much easier.
ReplyDeleteI don't blog every day, but not usually for a lack of ideas. I have a difficult time fitting blogging into my day sometimes. You always have such great ideas, so maybe sometime you will write a post about finding/making time to blog. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch an inspiring post :) I should really start putting more book reviews on my blog.

I think bloggers "try" too hard.
ReplyDeleteJust sit down, and imagine a friend being across from you... Chatting... Sharing a cup of coffee... Etc.
And type, what you would then. :-)
It brings out the-true-you. And isn't that what we want, in blogging?
Just an idea...
Tessa
Well said Tessa
DeleteI completely agree with you.
appreciate the ideas.
ReplyDeleteall very good ideas and I have done them all, but what I think I lack was really the will to actually do the work, sometimes you can dislike all your ideas so there are many blank pauses in between blogging which I think it's normal.
ReplyDeletegreat list. there's another idea - make lists - sometimes I don't stay to read the long posts but lists I always read.
have a lovely day.
Photos & book reviews work best for me. Politics would as well but I avoid it like the plague on my blogs.....
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I post a photo and just stare at it and write the first thing that comes to mind.
