Three Things To Inspire Your Weekend (22)

Quote of the day:
Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.
-William James

A Golden retriever service dog in the U.S named Yolanda, saved the day by dialling 911-on a specialized phone, and pulling the owner to safety after their home became engulfed by fire in Philadelphia. The owner, Maria Colon who is blind woke up to her house on fire and kept shouting 'danger' over and over, in order to get her service dog to help her.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has attended the graduation ceremony of prison inmates -part of a six-month inmate boot camp program run by the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation. A summary from his Instagram page reads "6 months ago these youth offenders all faced prison time... In front of the judge on the day of their sentencing they accepted to be placed in an extremely hardcore one of kind bootcamp. I gave them my word that they would be broken down in ways they never knew imaginable... but if they stuck with it and didn't quit, they'd be built back up to become better men. That was 6 months ago. TODAY, in front of their families, drill instructors and judges they graduate and become free men. Stronger men. Better men."

  45. I hope more youth offenders all over the country are soon offered an alternative of participating in a life-changing boot camp. Life has already beat some of them down; why not work to build them back up again into productive citizens?

Love that top quote. And it's true. Face the world with a smile, and before ya know it, you are truly happy inside.

  51. I have a soft spot for dogs so I really loved the story about the golden retriever. The prison inmates going to boot camp was a great idea and I'm glad to see that those young men were able to get a second chance.

You know, every time, I hear Will Smith's, Miami, it's the Whispers, And the beat goes on' that stays in my head, instead. I guess that's still one of my favorite oldies. Have a great weekend.

The ROCK did a great thing. Rehabilitation is a great way to give back. Most people deserve a second chance, especially if they are sorry for what they did.
