Quote of the day:
If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.
-Jim Rohn
It's Not Over Till It's Over
I'd like to think of this year as a catalyst to further self discovery. And as the year limps to its finale and end there remains much to accomplish. Forget about yearly goals, this is some last minute rush for self preservation. This is the fight of all fights. Cramming a year's worth of unspent goals and resolutions into the very last days and weeks. You wanted to read 50 books? The window is still open. You set out to lose a certain amount of weight? Hey, the window is still wide open. New language? Check. New skill? Check too. New job? Time off? Worry less? Check, check, check. It is not over until the end -so milk time till the last second of the year.
Cold Calls
Ever sign up for several services and then thereafter get harassed by cold callers? And by thereafter I mean weeks later which leaves little room to find the real culprit. Who was it who sold you out? And why is a lady calling to ask if 'have you ever been involved in a car accident.' And the timing is always suspect -like you are being spied on. Just when you are in the middle of something, your phone rings, but it's far away and as you swim through seven seas and climb mountains to get to it, pressing the connection button only to hear the words 'have you ever...'
I can't Function Without Coffee
Can you function without drinking coffee in the morning? I can. But I know a few people who claim otherwise. It is a ritual you see. They need their 'early morning fix' -their words not mine making it all sound like a terrible addiction (is it not?). But it's all in their heads really. Yes you can function without coffee as according to research coffee drinkers aren't more alert than their caffeine free counterparts. But then again, drinking
just one cup a day can cut the risk of early death by 12%. So drink on and live long.
Just Go With The Flow And Keep It Moving
There will be good days and bad. There will be comedians who are not funny. Singers who cannot really sing. Pets who love and appreciate us more than we do them. People who talk throughout a live show. Weathermen who don't know the weather. Plumbers who make things worse. Doctors who hate patients. Customers not receiving customer service. Cyclists who can't cycle. Leaders who can't lead. Lovely people who can't love. Kids who aren't kids. And then there is you and even though you may not always be at your best -just keep things moving nevertheless.
Peace. Love. Light*

I loved each word of your thoughtful blog!!! We will keep singing, loving, dancing, hugging, even if we are not judged the best at it. Thanks so much for your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou are right on for every one of those reflections! Wow! Plus, love the quote at the top!
ReplyDeleteFor me its a cup of tea in the morning. A must or I don't feel quite awake. Never got into drinking coffee.
C'est la vie hey B ☺
ReplyDeleteCoffee...must have!
ReplyDeleteGreat messages today Blogoratti :) I also believe it's never too late to start what's been put off. I make certain personal goals for myself each year and for the most part I fulfill them because they are goals I want and need for my own self-improvement. The ones that get put off are really just pipe dreams so I let them go until they have enough value or importance for me to take them seriously.
ReplyDeleteI CAN live WITHOUT coffee...though I don't want to :) It's a morning ritual, like you say.
Cold calls...with only a cell phone, it's rare these days thankfully!
A very ispiring post, as usual!
ReplyDeleteI especially agree on the first affirmation, never give up! :)

Amen. Just keep moving nevertheless. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI never answer the phone unless it's someone I know calling. And even then, I miss most of my phone calls. That's what texting is for ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't drink coffee. Caffeine and I don't get along.
Thank goodness for caller ID...if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer!! Sometimes I feel like the only person who hates coffee!! Give me an ice cold Diet Coke instead :) Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I really don't make too many plans for the future. Life has a way of getting in the way. Then I feel like a failure. This way I accomplish what I can each day.
ReplyDeleteI seldom receive calls from telemarketers. I check my call ID and if I don't recognize the caller I just don't answer.
I don't like coffee so if I need a little caffeine fix I have a cup of tea.
Going with the flow is something I do well. If everything is going smoothly I am fine. If a problem presents itself I deal with it. I have less to worry about this way.
Hola, en mi caso no uso demasiado el teléfono, solo lo necesario y planear mi vida, sí lo hago pero no siempre me sale bien. Precioso post, un abrazo.
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteThat first cup of coffee in the morning is something I savor. I don't think I could function properly without it, i.e., you would NOT like being around me when I'm caffeine-deprived. LOL!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
That's a true quote. I enjoyed your musings today.
ReplyDeleteIt is what it is........ thank you.

ReplyDeleteBrick to brick; this wall will stand; time's set.
A plan,
stands in the way
of other plans values,
as breaths call to a deeper prime;
new paths.
Excellent quote.
ReplyDeleteThere have been times in my life when I've been coffee-free.... but I do know if I go from coffee to no coffee, I'll have a whopper of a headache for a day or two!
ReplyDeleteI start the year with too many goals and I always seem to accomplish a couple. I've learned to be happy with that, and of course, not finishing goals leaves me some for next year. So I can have another big list in january. :) Happy day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLove your words, inspiring they are.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
I don't make yearly resolutions. Those are good intentions and we all know where they lead. The past couple of years, I have chosen a word. One word. My word this year was frugal. To try to use what I had or do without before buying more. the wheels might have fallen off that wagon. My moring ritual begins with a cup of tea. It provides a small slice of quiet time to mull over projects for the day before the bell rings.
ReplyDeleteI don't like coffee, but both of my oxymorons (adult children) claim they can't function in the morning without coffee. I like some milk when I wake up, but I can live without it. I'm glad I don't depend on coffee to start the day.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Great quote and wonderful thoughts. I've convinced myself that I need coffee - one of many illusions I cherish :) x Karen
ReplyDeleteThat´s a very good quote.
ReplyDeleteOne I really should print out and hang at my PCs - thank you!
Guess I´m lucky getting 2 cold calls max a year.
Coffee, yes. They say one cup a day, but then I also heard those coffee-machines in workplaces are icky. Sometimes I can make myself having a cuppa, but not daily.
My colleague today asked a phone company about their service. The answer was: You can please (!) visit our website, find the product and calculate the price. So much for good service...
I was very late to the world of coffee drinking. Very late. But I enjoy my one morning mug. I probably don't need it, but I enjoy it, probably as much now for the ritual as anything.
ReplyDeletei enjoy coffee, but i don't feel i need it to go on. i know a lot of people who truly feel they can not survive without it. not me. i love it has a treat. prefer tea though. it makes me less jumpy or nervous. ( :
ReplyDeleteYour words are always written very wisely and a blessing for us all. I really enjoyed this one my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting information, dear! Have a nice day)
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the few people who doesn't like coffee. Love the smell just never acquired the taste for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat gets me started in the morning is my walk. : )
Coffee....well, I do enjoy that hot, morning beverage. We all must press on, no matter!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree to flow with the flow, sometimes that is the best thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI have to drink decaf, so I make sure it's extra delicious decaf. (Gloria Jean's butter toffee.) :)
ReplyDeleteGreat comments from you!!
I never drink coffee in the morning. These days I typically don't have any caffeine until after 11:00 or so
ReplyDeleteWhat would i have done if not for Dr Blessing, my man of 3 years started acting strange when he got a new job in new York, i thought it was because of new job after two months i find out he has been cheating on me with his working mate i tried talking to him because i loved him and something in me told me he was not himself as my man loved me and our kid so much, in this process of trying to talk to him about this other woman my man pushed me out of the house , i was xo xo depressed that i wanted to file for divorce, but my mom ask me not to go for divorce so i tried holding myself even when i wasn't happy during this time, i started looking out for solutions everywhere, but non worked , until the day my aunt introduce me to this man called Dr blessing,of blessingspiritualtemple@gmail.com i explained my situation to him and he said to me if i believed in him ? i said to him and he told me to get somethings done which i did as usual , and he told me my man was under black magic from another woman and i said yes i suspected he was, but he finally said i should wait for two days that my man will call or text me , i believed him because i know my aunt will never mislead me , i was amazed when i received messages of apology from my man after two days i quickly told Dr blessing about this and he said that was just the beginning and that was how me and my husband are reunite again today and am carrying our second child inside me now, so with all this wonderful and amazed work done for me by Dr blessing i promise to share and inform the world about him because i know many are out there passing through hardship in their relationship , and i also introduced Dr blessing to my friends here and he did same good result for them all so am convince that with blessingspiritualtemple@gmail.com your relationship can be saved again

Coffee - I will drink on!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Mr. B!!
Love the image you've used.
ReplyDeleteFirst drink of the day/morning for me has to be tea!
All the best Jan
Oh very inspiring post darling

A wee bit of coffee is a good thing, a lot of coffee is a bad thing
ReplyDeleteLoved the quote ! A lovely post :)
ReplyDeleteGoals... I like to break them down into monthly, weekly and daily check points. That's really the only way to be sure they happen. Cramming is a farce.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't think coffee is as good for people as they think. Give it a few years. Another study will be released showing how it harms people. Such is medical science, eh? Two hundred years ago they said smoking was good for you. Just sayin'.
So very true to never give up and to keep pressing on! Hugs...RO
