Living the World A Better Place Than We Met It

Okay so you run into an old friend or acquaintance either in person or online. If in person-at least you do get to see how much such friend has changed over the years or in rare cases not changed at all. 

If online, say you get an invite from such a friend on facebook(or other), do you accept the friendship handshake- knowing fully well that you weren't that close in the past. I mean Facebook can be a real eye opener,because once you accept someone as a friend, part of your whole life,thoughts and hangouts including updates and pictures would all be made public. 

It's weird when you run into someone you haven't met in a long while. That awkward silence that prevails, the questions that are asked just for 'asking sake', the exchange of emails and personal contact information that you both know you'll never go out of your way to do follow up on. So we pretend, and go on with all the niceties and i wonder isn't that what has become a part of us as humans in this life. Most of the time we only look out for ourselves before remembering others, we only care about our comforts not the discomforts. 

When was the last time you picked up a phone to call anyone -friend,family,relation, whatever to find out how they are doing? When was the last time you paid a surprise visit to anyone, just to talk and share ideas together. When was the last time you looked into the deep blue skies,with the lazy clouds and smiled up at God? When was it..?

And what is our mission on earth? Is it not to leave it a better place than we met it? Is it not to be good and to help others in need whenever we can,is it not to be productive and caring above everything else? 

If you were to leave the world now, what would you be remembered for? Would you have led an inspirational life or just be another statistic. Food for thought. Go out there and do sometihng,make a change. 

So is you mission on earth finished? If you are alive, i dare say it isn't.
