Quote of the day:
Embrace love and compassion with all your spirit. Understand that they never hurt or offend, they just heal and empower.

A New York Philanthropist, Carol Suchman, has purchased an entire stock of a toy store in New York City (NYC), donating every single item to the NYC Department of Homeless Services. Suchman learned that the Hudson Party Store situated in the city’s West Village was going out of business -and wanted to help make sure that the shop’s inventory went toward an important cause.
Suchman told The Huffington Post, “When I saw all of the toys just sitting in the store, it occurred to me that it would be so great to be able to somehow get them to the kids in the homeless shelters that have so little.”

The largest State in Austria, now produces all of its electricity from renewable sources. Lower Austria, which is home to over a million people, has invested about $3bn in new solar, wind, and biomass power plants, and refurbishing the critical hydroelectric stations on the Danube River. It has created 38,000 “green jobs” since 2002 with a goal of 50,000 by 2030. And as a whole, Austria produces 75% of its power currently from renewable energy.

As seen on Dezeen, a house in Belas, on the outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal. Designed by Architects-CHP Arquitectos and consisting of five smaller houses connected by interior passages. The inspiration comes from the Portuguese villages of São Gregorio and Monsaraz: villages with clusters of white houses, tucked closely against one another.
Peace. And more Peace.

ReplyDeleteInspiring stories indeed. I like the look of that white house.
ReplyDeleteThe middle picture is the Schnebergbahn - the Snow Mountain train - which takes visitors up and down the 2,600 meter high massif in the background. It is situated to the south of Vienna in the east of Austria. There is an annual foot race when approximately 200-300 runners challenge an old steam train to a race to the summit station. The hardy old engine which has to stop halfway to take on water usually finishes in a top 10 spot.

ReplyDeleteAmazing work by Austria. We in Australia with huge empty areas with lots of sunshine should be a long way ahead of the world with solar electricity production, but instead we are miles behind.
