Book Reading List #3

Quote of the day:
My personal hobbies are reading, listening to music, and silence. -Edith Sitwell

It appears that my challenge of reading at least 5 books a month is still on course. As I present to you most of my book reading list for the month of April. The idea is to spend as much spare time that I have reading as much as I can, out of a handful of titles, and it has worked out quite well so far in that I've managed to read at least 5 books each month since I began this challenge at the start of the year.

I also like the fact that sometimes I pick books without reading the back covers, and just jump straight into reading. As with most cinema trailers that give away far too much of the plot, the same can apply to a book, and I try not to read reviews about the book until the very last page is turned. I must add that I do not do this for every book.

Moving on, here is my reading list as seen above:

Kazuo Ishiguru -Never Let Me Go
Haruki Murakami -A Wild Sheep Chase
Eilis Ni Dhuibhne -The Dancers Dancing
Paulo Coelho- Brida

What books are you reading or planning to read during the coming month? Do share.
Have a wonderful week!

Current Listen: John Newman -Losing Sleep

  10. Here is a must read for you: "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrick Backman. It's excellent. I just finished his second book but it wasn't as good. I've read 17 books so far this year so that's more than 5 per month.

  11. As I can see my boyfriend only on weekends, we spend an average of 1 1/2 hours on the phone avery night - time I'd spend reading if circumstances were different. Therefore, I am a rather slow reader these days, with most of my reading being done on the short train rides to and from work.
There is no list I follow; I just read what's next on the pile on my shelf, or comes next when clicking through my kindle's contents.

  15. I don't read as much as I'd like. Currently, I'm reading some stories by Paolo Choelo. I might do like you, just read without looking at the jackets or refiews.

  16. Wow, what a great challenge! Reading 5 books per month must be incredibly enriching and mind-openning. I also really liked the idea of reading a book without the 'spoilers' of the back cover, I should do that next time I read a bok for a change. :)

  17. I'm still reading Trigonometry for Dummies and a cook book called Ovenly. That is, when I'm not teaching myself french for my upcoming trip to France!

I do love silence almost as much as I love music. I try to be aware of silence. Sometimes I will lie in bed, after talking to God, and just before sleeping, I will be as still as I can, to be aware of complete silence.

You have the best blog posts!
