What I'm Reading Right Now #37

Quote of the day:

Perhaps the truth depends on a walk around the lake. -Wallace Stevens

When the sun peeps behind excited clouds there is every reason to smile, to be self aware of how great life is, and there is even more reason to bask in the reflecting light. Sunshine ignites an invisible fire each and every time, with darkness turning to shadows.

Having said that, there is a never ending hunger and fire to read, and keep getting lost in the world of books. My current read, which is the third for the month is a book by author Anna Perera.

Although it is a work of fiction, it is inspired by real events. It tells the story of Khalid, a 15 year old British teen whose life is forever changed when he travels with his family to Pakistan. It is a very compelling read about one boy's innocence in a time of conflict, uncertainty and paranoia.

  7. As usual, I am parallel-reading. This time, the work of non-fiction is a physical book, "Vorstoß in den Weltraum" by Willy Ley. Mr. Ley was a rocket scientist who emigrated from Germany to the US in the 1930s because of the Nazis. He later became part of the rocket-building team around Wernher von Braun. He and his wife published many books, not only about rocket science, but about other topics, too.

The fiction I am reading on my Kindle these days is a children's book from 1902.

  10. Just started Tunnels by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams. It's a children's book, and it's slightly annoying in its oversimplification of various matters, but the story is cracking along well.
