Poem: A New Dawn, A new Day

Quote of the day:

I ran and ran and ran every day, and I acquired this sense of determination, this sense of spirit that I would never, never give up, no matter what else happened.
-Wilma Rudolph

Through watered down deception
When trees become overwhelmed
But remain grounded still
This pegged destiny from inception
Birthing dreams that germinate.

Cue diggers searching for lost dynasties
Hearts buried deep yet beating thereafter
But these hands touched a bark
Collating chapters of voodoo soul trustees
Willing birds to migrate.

When the wind blows
The intrinsic value is captured
When the heart folds
The core burden is released.

Trees inundated by stray gusts
Leaves shredded but still no less a tree
Storms visit but never stay
Tomorrow, a new dawn a new day.

Peace. Love. Light*

  2. Well written good Sir !! We see Each Day (and am usually up to see the "Dawn" before rest) as another one that we are here for... dental; surgery (minor ... did have to use a chisel on the bone piece) and mouth pain is lesser that usual after dentist visits... So, very thankful for any misery to be "lesser"...

  9. Hi Blogoratti - lovely calming, thought-provoking poem for our recent days. The storm will pass, life will ease up but these challenges are always there to confront us ... and we just need to push through and live on ... each day a positive ahead. Cheers Hilary

  10. I was a little distracted by the italicised words Blogoratti. Are there reasons why you italicised these particular words? Otherwise the poem had weight and beguiling mystery too. Intriguing.

    1. I tend to do that in my poems to draw attention to the words- because when they are expanded on, they add more weight to the emotions being portrayed. Thanks!

  16. You also write of the "new day." We are lucky in that, our failures are not held against us for long. (at least by most)
