Quote of the day:

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
-Edmund Burke

People running scared. Shouts and screams. Running feet hitting the streets. Fear, danger and despair hanging in the air. Confusion, shock, disorientation. These are all too familiar scenes and it can be said that no city or location in the world is exempt. Only that some countries appear to have it worse than others. Extremism, bigotry and hatred. How does one replace apathy with empathy and love?

With tales of bravery by ordinary folks going about their lives just like everyone else. A policeman fighting off attackers armed only with a baton. Other brave people did what came naturally. Human beings...living, dreaming, and filled with hope just like everyone else-but obviously these same ideals are not shared by the perpetrators who have different and twisted morals. There is no justification to take a life -of a breathing, acting, loving human who is a child, a niece, nephew, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, wife, husband, cousin, colleague or friend to a whole load of other humans in this tree of life.

Different city. Same extremism. This time closer to home -again. London City. To think a few weeks ago I was in that area during day time, enjoying a nice walk and taking in the sights. When the news broke it was so surreal and dreamlike. It was really happening. Although it felt like it was thousands of miles away, and out of this world.

After all has been said and done, with incidents in different locations across the world tied to extremism, after the breaking news and analysis, after the curtains drop, after the show of love and support, and as the flowers wither, there will remain family and friends whose lives will never be the same again.

Peace. Love. Light*
