Quote of the day:

Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.
-John Lubbock

Are the best things and moments in life actually free? I believe so, but it's all down to perspective isn't it? Those intangible things that seem to serve us well -love, ideas, beliefs, time and space, energy, just to mention a few are all free to use. The things unable to be touched and not represented by anything physical. And what is there not to like about the intangibles in our lives? They are there for a reason to balance out the material things that we earnestly live and strive for.

The sky is perfect example of the ethereal. Sublime and divine it's presence is well established and firm. From night to day it contains everything that lies above the earth's surface and beyond. There is nothing more glorious than the morning sunrise often a synthesis of hues and colours all fascinating to the eyes, and which is often an inspiring start to the day.  The world could be upside down and filled with despair but each day is an opportunity to start all over again. The path to doing so is laden with intangibles that only needs plucking like fruit hanging from trees.

A simple gaze at the sky can be so calming. Clouds going about their business. Sometimes our mood can be a reflection of the weather, and vice versa. But there is no denying the fact that if we were to wake up to a missing sky a tiny fraction of the population may not even notice its absence. Preoccupied with things that can't be changed, opinions that can't be reversed, and expectations that can't be met, life can both be sinister and kind but I dare say not at the same time. When life is kind everything appears to fall into place like and things begin to make sense, we live a satisfied life. The sinister side of things are those beyond our control but we manage through anyway, fighting and resolute until the light at the end of the tunnel beckons. Many make it to this light, some get stuck on the way and give up, while others just do not have the will to even fight.

The sky should remind us all of how fragile but yet strong we are. And how collectively like clouds we can make a change for the better or worse. We can face challenges as vast as the sky. We can fight, we can stumble, and we live to fight another day.
