Three Things To Inspire Your Weekend (25)

Quote of the day:
You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want. -Zig Ziglar

A California -based moving company called Meathead Movers (Team picture above) founded in 1997 by brothers Aaron and Evan Steeds, is in the spotlight due to its incredible mission of providing free moves to victims fleeing abusive relationships. Recently, the company has partnered with Good shepherd, a non profit for helping women & children who have experienced domestic violence.

On Sept 8, 2015, the world celebrated the International Literacy Day. Not only is literacy a human right, but it is also a very vital building block for learning and personal development. It is estimated that 781 million people are illiterate. On this day, communities around the world act as a united voice in raising awareness for those who cannot read, or write.

  1. Applause to "Meathead Movers" - it is great what they do, and I can only hope that more people (not just women and children, there are also men who suffer abusive relationships) will take them up on their offer. Sadly, more often than not, the abuse works so "well" and for so long because the victims do not dare to break away from the relationship and think it is their fault, that they deserve it.

  28. We have to disagree with the Quote.... most of my life I have always been glad to help others ( made me "feel" good) ... but they (other than a very few) would never do the same for me.... But (even with health "limitations" ... we do still try to help other... never expecting so much as a "Thank You") but until we get to we can no longer do much of anything... we will continue to help others.... just the way I was raised...

  29. Inspiring is the best word to describe all three examples. I just wish that every person would make a point of performing one kind act each day. Can you imagine the positive effect that would have?

  47. You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want. -Zig Ziglar

Love this Zig Ziglar quote. I have always had it in the front burner and has inspired me to serve, in any way that I can. Not that I'm perfect. I strive on a daily basis. I draw strength from the Lord. Over time, I've come to realise that we're on this side of the planet to serve but most have become so engrossed in personal stuff. Self-centeredness holds sway. May the Lord open our eyes to purpose and destiny so we can fulfill it.
