Quote of the day:
One of the things reading does, it makes your loneliness manageable if you are an essentially lonely person. -Jamaica Kincaid
My preferred book for the week is a different author from the previous week. This is me taking a slight break away from Murakami -after about a four or five week reading run. Although finding time to read can be demanding, it offers great distraction or diversion -one that comes with immense rewards.

So for the week its back to a familiar author, one whose books I've read many times this year. I am reading 'False Impression', by British author Jeffrey Archer. The book contains a murderous plot, and revolves around expensive art, the unforgettable events of 9/11, manipulations, and international crime of varying proportions. Its fast paced, and it definitely is typical Archer -and is quite entertaining so far.
What are you reading for the week?

I've been on the lookout for something fast-paced :) I actually signed on to a book club, looking for inspiration in this exact area. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI am reading Harlan Coben. I have not found one of his books I didn't enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLovely Greets! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope yo catch up on my reading this Winter. False Impressions sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI just picked up Anna Karenina again and will re-read it for about the 4the time but I love anything Russian and it has a lot of Russian history. I don't like Anna's self-centered personality but it makes a good story. :)
ReplyDeleteI skimmed Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher. I skimmed it since it was similar to her show that I had already seen on Netflix. Funny.
ReplyDeleteTo do as much reading as you do, you must leave out TV. I'm reading a boring biography and as soon as I get another book I will stop reading the biography.
ReplyDeleteyou have made great choices
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a Peter Robinson book.
ReplyDeleteSounds suspenseful!
ReplyDeleteWow a suspense book.

ReplyDeleteReading certainly offers a great distraction from the very many worries of life. Although right now, I have to face one head on and do not really have the time to steal an escape. Love your current listen

I have yet to read this author. I need to try him some time. I am reading Sarah Fine: Fated and Sandra Brown this week. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything this week - I'm too busy writing.
ReplyDeleteThat's true about books - you can't be lonely with a good book.

ReplyDeleteI like that quote too. I get lonely and a good book is a good solution for a little while. I am reading a good book right now about a Bassett hound that is quite good in that it is great reading. Nice to meet you and thanks for coming by our blog.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds very good! Thank you so much for sharing, and thanks, as well, for your kind birthday wishes on my blog. I really appreciate it! :)
ReplyDeleteUmm... reading "for the week?!" More like, for the half year! I am slow getting through my books as there are gaps in between too and then I have to go back some to remember where I was. As it is, I only read non fiction. Current book: Michael Pollan's "Cooked."
ReplyDeleteGreat!! Reading? Still in my list to ready a book! Kisses
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your brief review...seems like a book I would enjoy...not much time taken to read. The quote of the day makes me feel a little sad.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your encouraging comments on my blog! they always make my day!
Interesting post and a good read. Not reading any book for now, no time to do that. I'm sure the next one I will try to read is Amber Rose new book just for the fun of it! Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Ratti! How is everything? Nah... No need to answer me, I know everything is alright!!!

I've already read this Archer book, and agree it was a fast read. Just finished reading Murder House by James Patterson and currently reading Career if Evil by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling).
