Sara Fleming from St.Louis has donated her kidney to a mother in Maryland, Akiba Allen, after reading about her story online. At 17, doctors diagnosed Akiba with lupus and she has suffered from Raynaud's disease, pericarditis and most recently, kidney disease. According to Sara, "If I needed a kidney, or one of my loved ones did, and we weren't a match for each other, I would have to rely on a stranger to help us out," Sara said. "How could I expect somebody else to do that if I'm not willing to do it myself?

Fifteen strangers have banded together to help an elderly man fix the roof on his house. David Perez of Fremont, California took matters into his own hands after watching his 75 year old neighbor trying to fix his roof for months. He took a photo and sent out a Facebook message asking for help from anyone with roofing skills. In the end, 15 people showed up to work on the roof, with many others donating food and drinks.
