Wonder Ponder

Quote of the day:

At the worst, a house unkept cannot be so distressing as a life unlived.
-Dame Rose Macaulay

All that i know now...
At this point in time...this moment.

This second..minute..
Hour....day
Month..year.

What if i knew it all back then..?

Would i...
Have turned out a different person....

I wonder...

I wonder...
If i like people for who they really are.
Or just for the way they look/appear.

I wonder...
If it's possible to just be free.
Floating like birds in the sky.

I ponder...

I ponder..
I wonder.

I wonder if memories of the past..
Will stay with me till the end.

X & Y

Quote of the day:

Nothing is said that has not been said before.
-Terence

You are mine
But i am not yours.

You are great
But i am no one.

You are the one.
I am yet unborn.

You are priceless.
I have no value.

You are me,
I am you.

Plans For A New Week

Quote of the day:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
- Mark Twain

Hey folks...
Week went by in a flash eh?
But seriously hope you got around to accomplishing most or all of your set goals.

My week was..
Not only eventful..but interesting too.
Amazing how one can get used to change easily!
All in all my plans were 100% complete.

I stayed focused, found inspiration, changed my diet so it's all about healthy eating now-also worked out,had enough sleep, worked on a personal project, and so on...it was a very productive week for me.

At the moment, i am reading 'The Prophet' By Khalil Gibran.
A line from the book reads: There are those who give little of the much which they have and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.
And there are those who have little and give it all. These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.
There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.
And there are those who give with pain, and that pain
is their baptism.

True words, no doubt.

My Plans For The Week
1. Remain focused.
2. Be prepared for change.
3. Be inspired.
4. Eat healthy and work out
5. Blog,blog....tweet!
6. Think different.
7. Call a friend just to say hello.
8. Manage time and tasks better.
9. Read a book.
10. Explore. Dream. Discover.

That's all for now folks. ..
So as you strive for success this week, be sure to make the best of everything. Life's too short not to.

So for this week, what is it that you're going to be doing different?
Think about it.

Have a beautiful week!

Where Have All The Naturals Gone?

Quote of the day:

A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.
-Mark Twain

The other day i was thinking...like i usually do.

About women (I do that often, sue me!)....and the fact that most of them that i know personally-i rarely get to see their natural hair.

I remember a while back, having this same conversation with one of my female friends, lets call her choco...

Bratti: So Choco tell me, what's up with women not wearing their hair natural anymore these days?

Choco: Smiling, she gave me that 'Oh no you didnt just go there' kinda look.
Well, you see for me it's more comfortable and easier to....

Bratti: Comfortable?

Choco: Yes i mean, it takes a lot of stress off taking care of the natural hair, which oftentimes is unruly and you need to keep retouching it and stuff.

Bratti: I take out my notepad and jot down while nodding, lol. Nah i'm just kidding.
I see, so you've never gone natural before?

Choco: Oh i have, it's been ages though. All i do now is i braid, weave and add extensions....
By this time my mind had already drifted off...

What triggered off these thoughts of mine again today?
An old article that i came across that made a whole load of sense, aptly titled: Where have all the naturals gone by Beatrice Hogg

So i ask, where have all the naturals gone?

Night Of A Thousand Thoughts

Quote of the day:

We do not remember days, we remember moments.
-Cesare Pavese

You know how some days you just lie awake in bed in the middle of the night, with distant thoughts just playing itself out...?

Night so silent that you can literally hear yourself think...

Thoughts about the past...
Various achievements, various mistakes...
Variety of people met along the way.. Some still here, others not to be seen again.

People i secretly admired...and never got around to let them know. Words that could have been spoken...and the spoken words that shouldn't have been said.

Thoughts about the present..
The pursuit of dreams, the fear of the future, the race to be the best i can be, and how time just seems to fly...

Thoughts about the future...
You
And
I?

Some nights...Just some nights..
I replay all these...a thousand and one thoughts separates us all..
A thousand and one dreams as i lay awake.

I do not remember days..
I remember moments.

But i know i'm not the only one.

Beyond Everything

Quote of the day:

The only joy in the world is to begin.

-Cesare Pavese

Begin...
Breathe in....suck in air,yea!

Begin...
A thought, it's all your idea..

Begin...
A way of living, a newness of sorts.

Begin...
A way of seeing...past human flaws.

Begin...
Search within...search, let go and fly.

Beyond everything...

If no one would tell you how special you are..
At least the mirror will.

The mirror being you...
Begin, begin...

Plans For The Week

Quote of the day:

Since you are like no other being ever created since the beginning of time, you are incomparable.
-Brenda Ueland

Hey folks...
It's been such an eventful and hectic week..
How far did you go with your weekly goal?

My week was...
All about meeting deadlines.
Amazing how much work one can get done in a week!
All in all my plans were 90% done.

Again i was not able to do any form of reading because of my busy schedule....but i did accomplish all the other goals i had planned for the previous week.

So, lately i've been thinking about goal setting and how much it really helps to have one.
Remember that 'It's important to record your goals and a good way to do this is by writing it down -this way it's easy to update and manage'...
The simple goals motivate you as you accomplish them rapidly. The difficult goals keep you challenged and growing.

So do try it out...

My Plans For The Week
1. Stay focused. Find inspiration.
2. Again go over future plans.
3. Eat healthy and Workout.
4. Get enough sleep.
5. Experiment with new ideas. Have fun.
6. Work on a personal project.
7. Blog and blog..tweet too.
8. Critically manage time better. Prioritize things.
9. Deal with obstacles, and fear too as it arises.
10. Dream on. Strive for better things.

That's all for my plans for the week...

Remember that you are like no other human being created, you are incomparable...
Take that with you as you journey into a brand new week.

Have a refreshing week!!

SYLVANA

Quote of the day:

Love is not blind - it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less.
-Rabbi Julius Gordon

If God had not made you Sylvana
I myself would have moulded you.
And given you the image of an angel.
And the flawless grace of a goddess...

I would have carved your face.
To caress any living soul.

Your eyes would be like diamonds.
Hidden deep within the earth.
The touch of your delicate fingers.
Like the early morning dew.

I would have looked for a nightingale.
So that i may give her voice to you.

I would have given your teeth.
The pure whiteness of fresh milk.

Your hair would have been flawless.
Like a rare combination of satin and silk.

And if you didn't have a name...
I would have given you mine.

But Sylvana you have none of these things.
And i love you nevertheless.

I love you because you are Sylvana.

Another Weekly Plan

Quote of the day:

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; all is vanity. -Bible, Ecclesiastes xii. 8.

Hey folks,
This past week has been eventful ...no...?
How much goals were achievable on your list...

My week was...
mostly a solution oriented one.
Getting past difficulties is always liberating.
All in all my plans were 90% achievable.

I wasn't able to read a book, yea. But i did work on a personal project, and i did call up a friend, amongst others...

So I was at service today and picked up a few valuable things one of which I'll share with you.
A line from the preacher went: 'Ask yourself, are you laying a very good foundation for your future right now'?

Food for thought right there.

My Plans For The Week
1. Go over my future plans again.
2. Set medium to long term goals.
3. Just be happy,no sense being otherwise.
4. Eat more. Workout more.
5. Blog and tweet :)
6. Read two books. (any ideas?)
7. Call a friend just to say 'how are you doing'?
8. Work on a personal project.
9. Never stop learning-and dreaming.
10. Experience peace.

So that's it folks. Have you made plans of your own?...go do it if you haven't already.

I'm currently listening to the album -BLACKsummer's night by Maxwell. Powerful work he's put together..nothing but meditative jamz. So be sure to check it out you Maxwell fans!

Boredom kills...so do something with yourself this week...
Remember, always practice humility and not vanity.

Have a marvelous week!!

Lost To Remembrance

Quote of the day:

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
-Plato

Temptation is the mother of all sins...

I walked briskly down the narrow street, cell phone in my left ear listening to the voice at the other end. It was a cloudy evening and the cold winds sent shivers down my back, chasing out all the warmth.

'Take the next turn',a female voice said.
'Hello,are you there'?
Yes,i said clearing my throat. I am here.
Okay, 'take the next turn, and keep walking down the street'.
And the line went dead.

My heartbeat was abnormal.
But hey,so was this little adventure of ours.
My palms were sweaty and i didn't have a clue where i was being led to as my mind flashed back to that first phone call hours ago.
..'let us meet tonight',she had whispered.

But what about...'i had started saying'...
Do not worry about that...tonight he's not coming home. I will give you directions, she had replied.

I close my eyes........
I saw a figure walking down one side of a busy street....Car horns blaring and dozens of people coming and going. Loud laughter erupted out of a nearby bar and blended with the noise from all the cars...

The shrill ring of my cell phone startled me out of my vague thoughts...

'At the end of the street, you will come to a crossroad.
Go left' she said.

The figure kept walking and along the curb, dressed in a black T-shirt with white shorts, carrying a travelling bag. The t-shirt had something written on it...

I got to the end of the street, and she was right about the crossroads.
I gazed up into the night skies silently watching the stars twinkle...heart beating more than a thousand beating drums.

The figure looked back and seemed to be staring at nothing in particular, and then continued walking. After a while he stoppped and searched frantically inside his bag for something.....he brought out a phone and turned around while speaking. He looked straight at me...written boldly in front ofhis t-shirt were the words: WHEN YOU MIX TEMPTATION WITH DANGER ,WHAT DO YOU GET?

I stood staring at the heavenly stars for a long time....my hands by my side, letting my breath escape in short bursts. I took it all in camly...
....and then i turned back the same way i had come...i retraced my steps as an oncoming car blinded me for a moment..with my cell phone ringing non-stop i continued walking and didn't noticed a sticker on the car that said: WHEN YOU MIX TEMPTATION WITH DANGER ,WHAT DO YOU GET?

I had a brainwave a while ago...and this story was the aftermath.

Nothing Lasts Forever

Quote of the day:

The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious of the rose - Kahlil Gibran

I

see you..

Do you..
see me too?

I sense who you are...
And all that you are made of...

If time stops...
I'll be your tick...tock.

Moving left to right...
like a swinging pendulum.

I've been watching you...
Have you been watching me too?

Sometimes in life...
We search for what we already have.
We show what we do not possess..
We hide under emotional trees...swarming with bees.

If you want something..go for it. Commit to it..
Take a walk in the sands of time...
Drink from the cup.

I wish i had two more hands...
Just to give you 'Four thumbs Up'.

Nothing lasts forever...
But i'll still be here where you left me.

New Week Plans

Quote of the day:

Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. -Dr. David M. Burns

Hi folks.
Week went too fast or is it just me..?
I hope your goals were achievable during the week...

My week was....
mostly pleasant i must say.
All in all i think i accomplished 75% of my goals.

At the moment, i'm still going through the '1001 Ways to Be Romantic' By Gregory J.P Godek.
A line from the book reads: 5 minutes devoted to romance = 1 day of harmony.....
Think of all the times that your failure to do some little thing—like calling that you'll be late from work causes problems...Do Things different...do something totally out of character. Always late?—Be on time. Not creative?—Think up something original and unexpected!

Makes a lot of sense eh?

My Plans For the Week

1. Be daring.
2. Be me. Confident, optimistic.
3. Learn from the past, live for the present.
4. Read a book.
5. Healthy eating, and sleep.
6. Blog, blog..and err Tweet!
7. Call up a friend just to hello.
8. Learn something new.
9. Move with high achievers.
10. Work on a personal project.
11. Dream big.

Remember,Learn from yesterday,live for today,hope for tomorrow.

The important thing is -to not stop questioning.(Albert Einstein)

Do something different. Have a glorious week!
