WHY

Quote of the day:
There is a great difference between worry and concern. A worried person sees a problem, and a concerned person solves a problem.
- Harold Stephens

Why worry.

About the weather, and things that you cannot change.
Things that are so out of range-like the stars in the moonless sky.

Why Worry.

About life, and the many unanswered questions about existence.
Why not just live, instead of existing.

Why Worry.

About everything.
And get nothing done in the progress.

Why Worry.

About emotions.
And one thousand and one vibrations...

WHY.

Prism of Light

Quote of the day
:
Beauty in not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart
-Kahlil Gibran

I am a prism.
Can you see my colors.
Can you view my light...

I am in prison.
But I am not your prisoner.

I am the beauty that you ignore.
The inner essence just underneath the core.

I am your foreskin.
Your next of kin.

I am an eclipse...
I cover dreams.
And not the sun.

A melody yet to be sung.
A hidden gemstone...
Only visible to some.

A Journey of Self Discovery

Quote of the day:
Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.
-Oscar Wilde

We can be anything we want to be...it's all in the mind.

What you think-you become. If things aren't going well for you at the moment, it might just be a phase you are passing through. Take a step back, take a deeper breath and tell yourself that you were made for something stronger-something bigger. All you need to do is feel it, embrace it-dream about where you would like to be...and work towards it.

When you overcome challenges of any kind, notice that you grow inwardly...you look at things, people, life differently.

Our ideas and thoughts may vary-but our wants and needs are more or less the same. We all need to be loved, we all need affection, protection and to be respected for our individuality.

Most people battle with low self esteem-they belittle themselves-no confidence whatsoever. And the world has no respect for any man that sees himself that way.

Stay positive and confident of your abilities-for you are much more stronger and special than you can ever imagine. Believe in your ideals. Change for no one.

Never let the opinion of others about yourself weigh you down...or stop you on this journey that you have undertaken.

A journey of self discovery...

Like A Geisha

Quote of the day:
Music can change the world because it can change people.
Bono

An orchestra.

Melodic trance resonates.
A dozen violinists...
One distinct aura.

Four strings... tuned in perfect fifths.
Effortless...

Like a geisha...
Gliding across the surface.

Eyes wide shut...
Alto violin...crescendo.

Applause.
A calmness.
A defining pause.

And then.
Silence...

A Reminder

Quote of the day:
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see
-Henry David Thoreau

I keep daily and weekly schedules, reminders most times.
And this helps...
To manage my time and resources well.

Each day is like a new present to be opened...full of surprises.

Therefore, my focus each morning is on-having a swell day filled with learning, warmth and laughter...no matter what happens.

I am still learning to focus my energy more on positive thinking- and less worrying...

You should try it out too!

It changes your perspective about everything. It calms your nerves-and you find yourself laughing at things that would ordinarily get you all worked up.

Stay calm and focused in this new month!

Plans For The Month

Quote of the day:
A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.
- Charles M. Schwab

Hello folks.
Past week was more or less a good one- was able to get 70% of my plans done-didn't get to blog as much as i would have loved to too.

So it's the start of a new month...new beginnings.
Time to take stock of the past month and deal with failures and unaccomplished plans.

The past month for me was one of the most productive so far this year-and I'm hoping this new month surpasses that.

Plans For The Month
1. Quit waiting for the 'right time' to do things -and just do them.
2. Keep myself busy with work, dreams and plans.
3. Avoid negative influences, and folks who discourage or depress.
4. Less worrying, less stress, more action.
5. Seek the company of like minded people.
6. Schedule time wisely.
7. Blog daily...Read 3 books a week.
8. Help others achieve their goals.
9. Be nice to everyone I meet.
10. Dream on.

Remember, you can be successful at anything.

No Need For Your Eyes

Quote of the day:
We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another- Jonathan Swift

I don't need your consent.
To live.
And be whatever i want to be.

I don't need your heart.
To beat.
To enable me to breathe.

I don't need your eyes.
To seek.
In life all that I want to be.

I don't need your voice.
To shout.
I can do my thinking aloud.

I don't need your tears.
To fall.
Even clouds cry after all.

I do not need you anymore.
I realized.
I've got no more need for your eyes.

Hope y'all are having a great week.

The Art of Contentment

Quote of the day:

Truth is a deep kindness that teaches us to be content in our everyday life and share with the people the same happiness.
-Kahlil Gibran

Five years ago today...

I wonder if you can recall exactly what clothes you had on, what mood you were in, what day of the month it was, and how many problems you faced...and if you were either happy or sad.

Truth be told, i can't recall anything myself. Five years ago...seems just like a century ago.

I guess the point i am trying to make is this...the little time you have right now is so special...don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Because five years from now, some of the things, passions, emotions, dreams, and other stuff that's weighing you down- would not really matter any longer.

Truth is we need to be more content in our daily lives. Sometimes we spend more time worrying than actually living...caring...loving.

Worry less. Share happiness with people that you come across-because truth be told it helps a great deal. Happiness helps. It has occurred to me that making people happy also rubs off on you too. Surrounding yourself with happy people-makes life easier to live through.

Remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for. Happiness is not getting what you don't have -but appreciating the things that you have.

You alone can decide if you want to be happy or sad. Think about it!

Peace & Love*

Too Busy To Live

Quote of the day:
Balance is so important in our lives. In our busy world, we can give ourselves balance between thinking and feeling.
Yakov Smirnoff

We think too much about ourselves sometimes to even bother about other people out there.

We spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear, and how to wear it. About what time to get out of the house in the morning, about how to get to wherever it is that we might be headed to. We think too much about everything that affects us...and so little about things or people that we affect...

When was the last time you picked up your phone-not to chat or play games, but to have a really good conversation with an old time friend, family member or a new friend you just made?

People oftentimes say that they are too busy- with whatever it is they have going on. But how busy can one person get? Are we too busy to have a life...or just too lazy to make an effort i sometimes wonder...

A friend was telling me the other day about the fact that she was always so busy-that she didn't have time for her friends. And i asked her 'busy doing what'?

For a few seconds she went on about being occupied with this and that...while i looked on. Asides going to work-and even closing earlier than most folks, she could not point out what exactly she used the remainder of her time for-but yet she kept telling the people close to her that she was always too busy!

I'm not saying don't be busy...just that there should be a balance somewhere...

Don't be too busy watching out for what is ahead of you, that you don't take time to enjoy where you are...

So next time you tell people that you are always busy, be ready with an answer when they ask 'busy doing what'?

Peace & Love*

How Do I Know

Quote of the day:
How do you know if your mission in life is finished?
If you're still alive, it isn't.
-Richard Bach

How do i know you are the one.
Amongst so many.

How do i know when to approach.
At what point if any.

How do i know when to speak.

How do i know when to be carefree.

Story Of Our Lives

Quote of the day:
I think as you meditate over the years you evolve. Your practice gets deeper, and you reach new levels of inner peace and awareness.
-Jack Canfield

If you ask me i am ready.

Ready to take on the world -one day at a time. But then i stop and look back....all i see is distorted images that try to form into a clearer picture. Buried deep in our memories are actions that resurface like objects in the ocean thrust upon the shore.
Sometimes we stop to pick them up out of curiosity. We hold it in our hands so delicately-and stop for a minute to reminisce past the moment.....

Past the friends we knew then but not any longer.
Past the relationships that made us weak, and others that made us stronger.
Past the events that shaped us
Past the shackles that freed our minds and awakened us.
Past the doubts, and aspirations.
Past the hourglass of life.

All i feel now is silence...

Silence for days yet to come.
Silence for missions yet to be accomplished.
Silence for being silent on days that needed a voice.
Silence for the ugliness of the world and dwelling on the beauty instead.
Silence for having a reason to live-not living for no reason.
Silence for stories yet untold.

Exposure of Me

Quote of the day:
Praise, like gold and diamonds, owes its value only to its scarcity.
-Samuel Johnson

I walk along the edge.
A silent path of sorts.
A dwelling place of which I seek.
Enclosed underneath fallen leaves.

I run beside the shores.
A splash upon my feet.
A swelling inside my heart.
Undisclosed like a web it weaves.

I seek deep knowledge within.
A mirror that reflects.
A dwelling of my soul.
Overexposed like sunshine.

Month of Dreams

Quote of the day:

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
-Goethe

Concealed talent brings no reputation....

You alone know what you can do.
The abilities you have.
You alone know the hidden talent that you've kept away from everyone else all these while.

Look at the stars....look at how they shine in the skies. What if they were hidden from view? What if we couldn't see brightness from afar-it would just be an empty sky with clouds. But yet they are not hidden-and they are there for everyone to see, to marvel at.

Why conceal your talent when it brings you no reputation.
No age is old enough to start a new dream, to embrace a new theme in life.

Share your talent with the world. We are all different-so we can't all be the same. Our talents differ, so do not worry that someone has a better talent be cause at the end of it all the question to be asked is -what are you doing with yours?

It's your month of dreams. Begin Now!
Happy New Month folks.

Idlewild

Quote of the day:

Never be entirely idle; but either be reading, or writing, or praying or meditating or endeavoring something for the public good."
-Thomas Kempis

Never be idle....

Just sitting in one place unmoving.

If it appears that everything in life seems to be at a standstill...you might need to look within- maybe you are the one not actually moving.

The only limit to the impact you make on others...
Is your imagination and commitment. Remember friends, so that they will also remember you.

Do something new every other day...challenge yourself.
Exceed your proven abilities...
Learn from the tiny ants.

Obstacles...what are they?
They are those scary things you see when you take your eyes away from your goal. Dedication and hard work often pays in the end.

So never be idle...see you at the top!

So Far Gone

Quote of the day:

No man is rich enough to buy back his past.
-Oscar Wilde

So what if you had all the money in the world and could buy back the past...

What part of your past would you buy back first and just how much would you be willing to pay for it-assuming you had the money that is.

Since the past always has a way of creeping up to the present, if given the opportunity to buy back their past-I think most people would grab the opportunity with open arms. Buy back the mistakes, the agonies, the tears, the fears, the losses-amongst other things. But you see all that is not possible, only a wishful dream.

I have had to deal with many things in life... most of which I've had absolutely no control over. I also had to deal with many things that i had absolute control over. Along the way I have learned that it always pays to do the right things at the right time and that there is indeed a time for all things.

Do the right thing...because it is right. Have the courage to face your challenges head on.

5 years from now-your hairstyle, your wardrobe, your relationships, friends you had won't matter. What matters is what u learned & how you used it.

Step out of your comfort zone...
Let go of certain things. Live right, make plans, get up when you are down, don't cry over spilled milk, don't worry about things that you can't change like-the weather and friends.

Let nothing stand in your way to fulfilling your dreams. If anyone says to you...."You can't do it"....get up and show them that you can. Success is the best revenge.

The past won't really matter 5 years from now....What matters is what u learned & how you used it.

Much Love.

Silence of The Storm

Quote of the day:

Dum spiro, spero (Latin), "While I breath, I hope"” -Latin Proverb

Rise and shine...into the new day. Sun peeking out in the horizon. Heart beating in anticipation. This new month that is upon us...this new feeling of freedom. Things can only get better-how high can one get...moon and stars. Things will most times go wrong-how low can you reach before you shall overcome. I stand upon the sea shore overlooking an oncoming storm.

Should i be afraid? Am i being pursued? Is this the right time to run away, cross the red sea? let my people go...let my people go.

Release my dreams like a pandemic...you catch it before you realize how you got it. Inspiration is scarce...not because it's hidden, but because it goes unnoticed. I shall rise...i shall take risks and no matter the results i will live and learn-not crash and burn.

It's a cold, cold world...but that don't mean my feelings has to be cold...don't you see that my reasoning has to be known. I see lights...flashing, at the end of the tunnel. I see the clouds clearing. No more storm...just silence. Clear skies...my mind is clear. What doesn't kill me...shall only make me stronger. I am stronger now....in the silence of the storm.

Happy new month!!

Plethora of Thoughts

Quote of the day:

A thought, even a possibility, can shatter and transform us.
-Friedrich Nietzsche

One prayer...a dozen miracles.
One failure...many examples.

One individual...loads of namesakes.
One heart....plenty heartbreaks.

One house...many doors.
One world...many wars.

One lie...a lot of deceits.
One faith...many different beliefs.

One doubt...a handful of fears.
One century...a hundred years.

One day...a pocketful of choices.
One star... a million voices.

One sun...different means.
One body...a mix of genes.

One step...a thousand miles.
One win...unending smiles.

Unopened Letter

Quote of the day:

If I am a legend, then why am I so lonely?
-Judy Garland

Like the early morning sun dear.
You crept up on me and showered me with warmth.

Away from all the coldness around here.
I seem lost in your eternal embrace.

You took away most of my innermost fears.
You wiped away my tears when no one else was looking.

Life is a puzzle, let our love form the missing pieces.
Let our togetherness change with the seasons.

It is said that there's nothing new under the sun.
Funny..cause i set my eyes on you right underneath it.

Better believe it when i tell you that i have flaws.
But even a beautiful rose has thorns-but yet we overlook it.

I can climb mountains just to hear your voice.
But a phone call is faster...but yet i hold back by choice.

Define life and define love.
I know what i want but sometimes is that enough?

When my thoughts fade...erase.
It's only memories of you that shall remain.

Dreaming Out Loud

Quote of the day:

It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
-Gerard Patrick Roeling

People always say 'wrong place at the wrong time'....

A brilliant narration to sway my thoughts and imprison my innermost fears and tribulations...

I need a few moments.

To analyze things just the way they appear.
I tried to sleep...

But my eyes would not let me.

The violins kept playing inside....inside my head.

The harmony envelops as it develops...
I pretend not to sense the underlying notes...or tones?

I am sober.
Yet my pupils dilate and grow larger.

I am high and then low...
Fighting a war in a motion so slow.

Emotive

Quote of the day:

We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken.
-Fydor Dostoevsky

You cannot say to a stranger- Love me.
Or to a friend- Hate me.

You cannot say to the ticking clock- Less speed.
Or to the winds- More force.

You cannot say to the sun- More warmth.
Or to the rain- Less storm.

You cannot say to the stars-More twinkle.
Or to the moon- Less glow.

...But sometimes we fall in love with strangers.
And fall out of love with friends...

But love should never be forced
...ever.
And time waits for no one...none.

If You Don't Know Me By Now

Quote of the day:

“I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same things too, So we're really not that different, me and you.”
-Colin Raye

If I could.
Change just one thing.

If I could.
Retrace my steps.

If I could.
Run backwards in time.

But you see I can't...

But I can.
Eventually change everything.

But I can.
Always keep moving.

But I can.
Race into the future.

How to Get Better and Ahead in Life

Quote of the day:

Second place is not a defeat. It is a stimulation to get better. It makes you even more determined.”
-Carlos Lopes

Life is a race.
Life is a game...
Winners and losers.

With defeat one shouldn't ever give up..
It's always difficult hearing the victory songs of others-whilst our own songs remain silent from our trembling lips.

Being first at all times takes dedication...and even with that it's never guaranteed.
We all wish to be first in all aspects of our daily lives.

No one goes about thinking "Oh I'd like to be second place in this or that"....

Thing is...society tends to dictate how our existence and confidence should be. People look up to the winner, looking past those forming a long line behind him-forgetting that second place, third, fourth....is not defeat...just a motivation to get better.

So... as you go about living your life daily, remember this....
You can't always win.
But you can always get better at things....

A moon's reflection

The smile on her lips.
The shyness in her eyes.

The innocence of her gaze.
The sheer beauty of her face.

The calmness in her demeanor.

How to Write The Words You Cannot Speak

Quote of the day:

Winning is not everything, but the effort to win is.
-Zig Ziglar

I am sitting here looking at the screen like a fortune teller staring into the crystal ball. Suddenly the memories take me on a flight. Flying through the many battles i have won and the failures i have had to endure. Losing and winning go hand in hand. We can be close to happiness but miss it. We can be close to success but overlook it. We can be close to love but ignore it. We can be close to friendship but forsake it. We can be so many things but not everything. I took a step back and started blogging. On the surface i didn't know the direction if any it would take but in my heart i knew that a new path would have to be created. I was on a quest to create something out of nothing and by doing that bring you into my dreams and though sometimes it would seem like my writing is too deep to understand and other times too easy to comprehend . Yesterday at night i stared into the loveliest of skies with the moon and the stars shinning ever so bright. I can see myself as one of those stars. I see a lot of other stars who post their thoughts ever so well because of the need to accomplish something. The need to express their own opinion and not that of others. Stars abound everywhere not only the skies. I write to spread love peace and understanding and that which I cannot speak of. I do not seek to change history only to be a part of it. If you are reading this then you should know that i won't take your time but I will go away with your smile. I will continue writing so that I can go away with many more....so much more.

Poem: Book of Perfection

Quote of the day:

In the middle of the silence in a writer's house lies an invalid: the book being worked on.
-Richard Eder

This book will
start end someday.
Someday the puzzle will be complete.

My great adventure book.
Plenty empty pages still.

I need growth like a
treeseed.
I long for sunshine.

I want to be the best i can be.
Sometimes my imperfections shines brighter than the sun.

But even the sun sets at some point.
Without
lieslight darkness prevails.

I need directions.
But i am unwilling to
askseek.

The
painglint in your eyes.
shall be my guide-forever.

P.S My birthday is four days away....looking forward to that!!

Hope you guys are doing just fine!

Never Forget How Unique You Are

Quote of the day:

As we grow as unique persons, we learn to respect the uniqueness of others.
-Robert H. Schuller

You and I...we are certainly unique.

And it is true.. that as we grow, we most certainly learn to respect the uniqueness of others.

Respect...a word missing in most people's dictionary.
People who see others not like them as 'not cool', or even a fool. They forget to respect the uniqueness of others as they grow in their own little world.

So some people actually leave their uniqueness behind...change to someone else-just to be considered cool and not a fool. They forget to stay true to their uniqueness...that which makes them stand out in the first place..that which makes them different...distinctive...and exceptional.

You lose your uniqueness...you lose everything; and then what do you have left?
So what if you are not tall or look like a model from a magazine...so what if you talk funny, eat, laugh or walk funny...or even dress funny-that's just the way you are-your uniqueness.

So what if you don't like music...
Or the outdoors...
Or even pets?

Understand that people can make you feel bad-only when you allow them to.
And people can and will take a lot of things from you...
They will take your time...some will take your trust...others will try to take away your uniqueness.

But remember...never give up that which makes you who you are..your uniqueness!
