New List For the Week

Quote of the day:

People who have what they want are fond of telling people who haven't what they want that they really don't want it
-Ogden Nash

Past week was awesome....
filled with new thoughts..
inspirations and ideas...
ups and downs.....

All in all it was a good week...
of blogging, dreaming, working and learning..
and yearning...

This week...i hope would be better than the last
that's what life is all about right? Improving on things...

Started a book -Selections from Genji Monogatari Classical Poetry and Drama of Japan....

My plans for this week

1. Write down a list of my strengths and carry it as a reminder
2. Do a little shopping, rearrange my wardrobe
3. Go catch a movie (i hope)
4. Read a new book, learn a new task
5. Work out
6. Eat healthy
7. Blog.....and blog
8. Call an old friend just to say hello
9. Always believe in myself even if no else will

Poem: Cloud Nine

Quote of the day:

All I can say about life is, Oh God, enjoy it!
Bob Newhart

Right about now...
as i watch the sun go down..
curtains drawn back as i gaze

i realized that the skies
with all the beauty inside...

is something that we think little of.....
one of those things that we fail to appreciate

Grey clouds are at a standstill
there are hundreds of them scattered around..
something or someone bigger...
is taking care of them..

I marvel at this free work of art unfolding...
art that we all so busy to even notice

Current Playlists: (songs that i'm feeling right now)
1. John Legend -Everbody knows
3. Akon Feat. Micheal Jackson-Hold My Hand

Have a great weekend everyone!

Quote of the day:

Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one - John Lennon

Imagine a world without air
people would suffocate
Imagine a world without homes
people need not renovate
Imagine a world without wars
people need not relocate

Imagine a world without poverty
people would be rich
Imagine a world without prayers
God would be hard to reach
Imagine a world without schools
who would be there to teach?

Imagine a world without life
It would be near insanity
Imagine a world without death
people would live till eternity
Imagine a world without clouds
people would not see rain
Imagine a world without comfort
people would live in pain

Imagine a world without a world
then what would remain?

Life Has Taught Me

Quote of the day:

I slept and dreamt that life was Joy. I woke and saw that life was Duty. I acted, and behold, Duty was Joy- Rabindranath Tagore

Life has taught me
to be a dreamer ...
to search for answers where there appears none
to laugh at myself often....

Life has taught me
that friends come and friends go-just like the sunrise and the sunset....
and that the greatest impressions made on us...
are often by people who get to leave too soon

Life has taught me
never to look down on an individual....
never to take things for granted...
and to always see lights at the end of the tunnel

Life has taught me
that trust built over the years can crumble due to little fears

Life has taught me
that putting a smile on someone's face is worth more than riches....

Life has taught me
that too much of everything-although sometimes good always end up being far worse in the end

Life has taught me
to be brave...
to be strong...
to be be wrong
to achieve
to be naive...
to be free

Life jas taught me these and lots more....
what has life taught you?

Plans For 4th Week of May

Quote of the day:

The first half of life is spent in longing for the second -- the second half in regretting the first -French Proverb

Great week that just went by....
For those of you that made new year resolutions and all -any luck with those resolutions?

Amazing isn't it how far the year has gone already-almost halfway!
So if you haven't figured out what you want to achieve this year, then this might be the right time to get around to doing just that.

For the previous week i made may plans, a greater part of which i was able to carry out...

I continued with my '20 minute principle',and that's going on pretty well.....As for the learning French, i got my hands on some French lessons online and hope to work some more on that-i hope to spend at least 15 minutes a day on lessons....

I'm currently reading a Jerry Manas book on Project Management and also an e-book of Pastoral Poems by Nicholas Breton.

My plans for this new week

1. Smile and laugh more
2. Do more listening than talking
3. Continue with the French Lessons
4. Blog, and blog
5. Work and play
6. Visualize possibilities to solving problems
7. Call up someone i haven't talked to in a while
8. Read a new book
9. Manage my stress level by planning ahead
10. Never stop dreaming
11. Learn something new

Current Read: Jerry Manas -Napoleon on Project Management

Caught In Her Web

Quote of the day:
It's so nice to get flowers while you can still smell the fragrance - Lena Horne

she walked past me and my pupils dilated....
a thousand and one words sped through my mind....

Words that literally came to life...
words like..... essence, femininity, allure,magnetism.....

like a pied piper her scent played me a tune...

she weaved a web, and i got trapped in escape

how a smell...

a scent...

a fragnance....
or aroma....

how it all can trigger a memory...
a thought...

a dream...or something else

Man With The Yellow Coat

Quote of the day:

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed -Martin Luther

Yesterday i saw a man
he wore a suit
the colours
didn't match
grey pants
and a yellow suit jacket....

and all i could think was 'i wish i could do that'....
dress anyway i wanted
screw what anyone thinks.....

infact i'd go out....
buy myself a yellow coat -no make that purple
or rather red....

Week of New & Old Things

Quote of the day:
It's not so much how busy you are, but why you are busy. The bee is praised. The mosquito is swatted -Mary O'Connor

It's the start of another week and a review of the past one.
Real busy week i must say...

How did you fare during the week...
Were you able to get as much things done as possible?

I'm still doing the '20 minute principle', and i actually use a word editor to write everything i'm thinking down-ideas, goals and all. Started this 2 weeks ago, so now I've got a handful of things written down, and the good thing about it is that i can always go back and review those things.
So you should try that out as well-the 20 minute principle that is.

So for the week, achieved all but two things -reading a new book and yes i bet you can guess the other one-learning a new language. I've not gotten around to doing that just yet.,sigh*

My plans for this new week

1. Focus on the little things
2. Read two new books (to make up for last week)
3. Engage in positive discussions.
4. See everyday as a new opportunity to be different
5. Eat healthy and workout
6. Blog,blog and .....
7. Learn a new language (hopefully)
8. Call up an old friend
9. Remember that time is money-get things done as soon as possible
10. Focus,focus and focus
11. Learn something new daily
12. Never stop dreaming

So there it is..
Remember it's not how much busy you are- but why you are busy that matters.
Be inspirational. Be whatever you want to be-you are the only one that can stop YOU.

Have a glorious week. Much Love!

Quote of the day:

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness
-Dalai Lama

It's been a long week, but so far so good...
...we are alive right ?
isn't that what really matters....being here and now?

breathing in the air...
watching things just go by...slowly.
purpose of life....
this chance...
this occasion of being here.

Many paths already taken...
still got a long way to go...

after all tomorrow is another day.
another dream...
another thought.
if and when i fall.... i pick myself up

try and try...
and again....
and again.

Here's wishing everyone a memorable weekend!.

Quote of the day:
I always tell the truth. Even when I lie -Scarface

What an eventful week that just went past. I was able to achieve most of my plans -except for the learning a new language part -again. Hmmmn!

Anyways, in my last 'To Do List' i mentioned the 20 minute's been great so far.
Before going to bed each night i evaluate my plans, dreams, goals and ideas.. i spend time to analyze and brainstorm on things i had come up with during the day. For instance i've been thinking up one or two business ideas and at the same time reading a book on 'Writing Business Plans'.
So i encourage you guys to try it out -'the 20 minute principle', whereby you spend at least 20 minutes a day to go over your goals, aspirations, to see the progress you are making with your career, relatinships with people, and so on.

So my plans for this new week:

Plans for the week

1. Continue with the 20 minute principle
2. Read a new book
3. Help someone in need.
4. Learn something new everyday
5. Blog, and blog
6. Work out
7. Give someone a helping hand
8. Learn a new language?
9. Smile and take things as they come.
10.Keep dreaming.

That'll do for the week ahead, and i hope to achieve all that.

Here's wishing you all a week full of possibilities!!
Remember that you are never fully dressed without a smile!

Innocently True

Quote of the day:
Paralyze resistance with persistence -Woody Hayes

i over hear them
speaking in silent tones
but a gentle breeze oftentimes
carries their conversation towards me

I'm reminded about the past
too often i forget about the future
today the sun smiled at me
i felt the linger i felt the mercy

I always was with them
but they never noticed
today they spoke out loud
they said the world was theirs
but even from where i hid
i sensed their inner fears

They talked about greatness
but all i ever felt was innocence

With You

Quote of the day:

Poets need not go to Niagara to write about the force of falling water -Robert Frost:

I woke up
my room was filled with stars

I picked one
only to realize it was you

I looked out
the most beautiful of sceneries

I longed
for an escape away from all these

I slept back
only to wake up in paradise-with you

Smile For Paradox

Quote of the day:

A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks -Charles Gordy

Funny how just one smile can change everything isn't it ?

I mean there you are, having a rough and tough day...
Some random person comes in and smiles at you. You smile back.
It changes everything immediately.

Funny how you ask someone to repeat a question
-even though you heard the question the first time....
I mean we do that all the time, right?

A quick example:
Random Person: Please pass me that book...
You: Uhn?
Random Person: 'i said pass me that .....'

Or better still-when someone insults you to your face ...
and then you go: 'what did you just say to me...?
Even though you heard it perfectly well that first time.

'Uhn'? and 'What'?
Words that can make the other person repeat himself to death...

What is the remedy you ask.... well i thought you'd never ask.
The next time someone answers 'uhn' to your statement...
Do not repeat yourself...instead stay calm...and reply with 'uhn'?

A Time That is Right

Quote of the day:

The time is always right to do what is right -Martin Luther King Jr

When is the right time..

There's a time to speak..
a time to listen.

A time to be strong...
to be weak.
to fight..
to run away..
into the embrace of the night

A time to change...
to be brave
to be different.

When the time is right..
you'll know.

All Over Again

Quote of the day:
To respond is positive, to react is negative -Zig Ziglar

What would you do all over again...

What is that one thing that you'd do all over again
If you could go back in time?

Would you smile more, laugh more..
Make more friends..
Love people better..

Would you run in the fields
a little child with innocence

would you play in the rain...
drive your folks insane?
